A group of (hilariously) racially diverse French hooligans decide to visit the country house of a random girl they pick up at a night club the night before Christmas eve, where they meet Vincent Cassell, who scares them by being Vincent Cassell.
As in most French movies, there some gratuitous nudity. There must exist in France a film board where they do not allow movies to be made unless there’s naked people in it.
The film is vaguely Deliverance-esque, since there are deformed hillbillies, but they are French, and female, and good looking. I don’t recommend it for the person who is not also playing Final Fantasy Tactics at the same time.

While worth seeing on the big screen, this version is not all that different from the Director’s Cut. A few scenes are marginally longer, graphics are more enhanced, sound is better. All changes are subtle like tears in the rain.
The Ziegfeld is a nice theater, you have your own sink in the bathroom stall! It doesn’t get more posh than that.

At the Asian Film Fest this year the first thing we watched is the cute Korean sex comedy musical “Daesepo Naughty Girls”. Entertaining but otherwise pointless to behold. Although by far the bestest movie out of all the ones I’ve seen, which is kind of sad.
Possibly the worst movie I’ve ever seen is this indies movie “Never Belong to Me”, a conglomeration of everything that is terrible about K-films minus the romantic comedy part. The tale of how some guy loses his dick because his brother, the product of the bestial union of a woman and a LOLCat, was all “Hai, found your dick, but I eated it”.
“Nightmare Detective” has two hot guys, and one extremely lame pop star lead who can’t act. The movie tries to be ambitious and stylish but just comes off like some crappy music video. The opening was good, but trails off into a boring slasher. More miniskirts and high heels on the police force! PRZ.
“EXTE: Hair Extensions” was not quite what I expected. I thought it was going to be based on Junji Ito’s “hair” and “Tomie” short about hair going berserk, but no.

On our way to Contempt we ran into these rockabilly folks who told us about this zombie movie “Fido”, apparently comparably funny to “Shaun of the Dead”. Basically, if Lassie was a Zombie and Timmy’s Mom is into Bestiality this would be that movie. I found it mildly humorous, though at the same time cheesy and not campy enough to make what camp there is remarkable.
